How to fix errors with wireless adapter?

Randomly a while ago my computer started having issues with connecting to the wifi, every time I tried to connect it would say "Unable to connect". I used to be able to reset the wireless adapter to make it work again (temporarily before it stopped again) but now that won't even work. Now I must restart my computer every time this happens and I haven't been able to find anything to help me. Now when I try to reset my wireless adapter the wireless apapter disappears entirely. What can I do?
