Unable to display image on AW3225QF when connecting via HDMI cable with laptop

I have a laptop with window 10 home that can support 4k in 60hz. My monitor is an Alienware AW3225QF that supports 4k up to 240hz but by default it is in 60hz.The first time I connect my monitor to my laptop using HDMI 2.1 cable provided with the monitor, it worked. However, when I tried to switch to 240hz on the avanced display setting on window 10 for the display 2 which is my monitor to 240hz, there was a refresh rate mismatch causing the monitor to go inactive in the setting and now it is stuck, I could not change the setting for it anymore.Anyone had this issue before ? please help.Thank
