Problem with File Explorer with the most recent update of Windows 11 24H2

After the most recent update to my Windows 11 24H2 desktop, my File Explorer no longer lists Desktop among the standard folders on the left side of the window. But all my desktop files are listed under Downloads. When I look at the actual file structure using Power Shell, it lists Desktop as it always has under /users/[my username], and the Desktop folder has all of my desktop files. But there is no Downloads folder anymore. It's as though the File Explorer has renamed the Desktop folder to Downloads and combined it with the old Downloads folder. What on earth is going on?
