Hi, I'm having some problems with my computer not playing music or videos properly and also being very slow. I used to use Google Chrome, but recently my computer started freezing up a lot and when I tried to play sound on Chrome it would play really jumpy and distorted with lots of crackling. To try to speed up my computer and/or fix the sound problem I used the disk cleanup and defrag tools but they didn't really help, so I ran full scans using AVG free and Malware Bytes Anti-Malware, which didn't detect any malware or viruses. I noticed music played fine on iTunes so I tried it with IE and it also played fine on that. Assuming the problem was with Chrome, and not really liking IE, I installed the latest version of Firefox. This played the music fine, however my computer was still slow and froze frequently. That lasted for about a week and now Firefox is having the same problems with the music, as well and IE and Chrome, but iTunes is still playing it fine. I've updated Java, Adobe Flash Player and installed Shockwave and Quicktime but noise still sounds really bad and of course, my computer is still slow and freezing. If anyone could give advice on how to fix these problems I would really appreciate it.

Actually, GazD, there is very little reason to believe that you are in the same boat at all. I suggest that if you have a recurring problem that you post your own thread and lay out all the issues. Problems may appear similar but may be entirely different.

I see that you have posted this under the web browsers forum but some information about your computer would be helpful. In your profile you posted gibberish about your operating system and nothing about the computer itself.

Edit: Whoops I just noticed that this thread is a bit old and probably will not draw a reply from the OP.
