How to I reset a PIN i never created

I went to a geek squad in a Best Buy today to help with some files issues. They take my laptop into the back and a few minutes later I am asked for my PIN to sign in. I have never created my PIN before. I think they did this just so they can get money out of me. When I click forgot PIN it takes me to a blank “tab” with Microsoft Account at the top, but nothing loads. I tried doing SHIFT + RESTART but my device wont even reset. I have a HP envy laptop that has 50 days until the warranty expires
