Can't activate Windows 11 despite having a Windows 10 digital license

Recently I had to upgrade my PC due to my old one not supporting Windows 11.I assembled the new PC, installed Windows 11 and did the whole startup process. Now when I try to activate using the license associated to my account it fails. When I try to troubleshoot the problem, it shows my old instalation has one of the activated copies. How do I fix this and activate Windows 11.
