Guest rb Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 With Win XP.....on hard drive backups.....does the boot disk the backup program makes allow you to get to and recover from the files on a USB hard drive, when the master disk goes sourth?

Yes, it should if it is formatted as FAT32. If it is NTFS, you might have to use a free 3rd party piece of software or a Live Linux CD with NTFS support of some sorts to get it off. OR, you can always plug it into a working XP/Vista computer and get things that way. - Thee Chicago Wolf
