Why does Windows c drive shrinks and grows automatically? Is there a way to disable it or to put a limit to it?

I've seen a question about this on this community before and it made me clear that it isn't happening because I was hacked or something like that, but it didn't solve my problem and the thread was already closed. I've seen cases where the space went up to 20 GB and then shrank back to less than 2GB and kept varying without me installing a single file. Now this problem got worse and I can't create even a text file, because I supposedly ran out of space. Does someone know how can I fix that? I would be very grateful.
