When I can not sign into terminal services (service shows started), I can

restart the system and then I can logon using terminal services. Is there a

way to accomplish this with restarting the Windows 2003 Server.

what error do you get when you can't sign in? Sounds like all the ts sessions

licences may have been used up and therefore no new sessions can be created.

The message was a 'unable to connect' message using remote desktop with no

other sessions running.

Correction: the message is "this computer can't connect to the remote

computer. ..." It may be due to the the number of connections for remote

desktop is full, possibly because of disconnects not logoffs. How can you

reset this without waiting for a restart?

You need to go into administrative tools on the TS then terminal services

manager. There you can see which sessions are still open and bu tirght

clicking them you can force logoff or reset.

Then in admin tools> terminal services configuration> you should right click

connections> propetties> sessions tab> set the timeout limits for expired

sessions so they are automatically freed up in the future. Hope that helps.
