What is causing browsers to crash when I start typing?

My wife's Lenovo laptop has Windows 11 with the latest updates to both Windows and all Lenovo drivers. Whenever we launch a browser (Edge, Chrome, or Firefox) and try to type (using laptop keyboard, separate USB keyboard, or onscreen keyboard), the browser immediately crashes. If we launch an app like MS Word, Excel, etc. the keyboards work fine. Therefore, it's NOT a keyboard problem. Could a recent Windows update be causing this?It started about two weeks ago, but my wife uses the laptop infrequently.
