How do I add an .srt file to an MP4?

Hey, I downloaded a French movie and found an English .srt file. I want to embed the subtitles directly into the MP4 before editing the video. Some players might be able to do this, but there are so many settings, and I’ve tried a few times without success. Can someone walk me through the process? Or suggest an easier tool to do this? Would really appreciate the help! Thanks!
