My pc says I need administrator access, but I am admin???

I got my PC second hand and I am the only user and account on it. For some reason my old files now say I need admin access but I am admin??? I can't delete old files that are just taking up space :( Every time I go to delete a file it says I do not have access. When I choose Properties and Security to see who the owner is it says unable to display current owner. I am not sure how to fix this :/ Please if you have any advice it would be greatly appreciated!!!
