How to fix "dual boot" on Win 11 24H2

I have a Dell Desktop Inspiron 3880, with Win 11 23H2 running just fine. Two days ago got a prompt to download Win 11 24H2, which I did. The update began but stalled and the computer “hung” for 2 hours before I manually restarted it. Since then when the computer boots up I get a window which asks for an OS to be chosen. The choices are: (1) “Windows 11 on volume 6” or (2) “Windows 11 on volume 6” (yes - identical choices), with an option to “change defaults or choose other options”. If I select #2, the system seems to boot up but comes back to the 2 choices. If I select #1 the system boo
