I had the problem referenced in this thread: Redirecting. After trying all the steps suggested by John, I gave up. While trying to solve another issue, I discovered that the problem was caused by my version of Windows. I have Windows 10 Pro N, where "N" stands for "No Media Pack." All versions ending in "N" lack the media pack features, so WhatsApp Desktop won’t work on them.I’ll leave here a link to instructions on how to install the media pack and resolve the issue: Microsoft Support.
