Help Formatting my SD Card in windows 10

HelloSo I just purchased a 120 Gigabyte SD card from Best Buy to expand my laptop storage however when I plug it in Windows 10 says it needs to format the SD Card to read it so I go through the Format Process however trying to format it as NTFS (So I can install apps to it) gives me the error "Windows was unable to complete the format" Without Windows even trying. Then I tried the "Create or Format Hard Disk Partitions" app but that gives me the error "Incorrect Function:, Although the partition app setting shows the correct volume of storage, the Format thing only shows "Unknown space" I spec
