Is this a safe file?

When I went on line just now my McAfee firewall had blocked file precache.exe which was seeking to access the internet. As I did not know or invite this application I blocked all access as one of the options offered by the firewall. Did I di right or wrong?

If you are unsure it is always best to block access.

 

Run Malwarebytes and post the log.

It probably comes from the 'Ask' toolbar.

Do you have the 'ask' toolbar installed?

This toolbar is a total waste of time....... so yes..... as KenB said 'If you are unsure it is always best to block access'.
