Is it normal for my PC to update while it's in sleep mode?

I put my PC in sleep mode. When I came back, I found that my PC had restarted since everything was closed. I checked Event Viewer, and it said there was a Kernel-Power error, so apparently something went wrong. Is it normal for this error to appear? I mean, it usually appears only when there's random shutdowns, but is it okay in this case? Thanks!
