Product Key removal with PC locked out by BitLocker

Hi all!Unfortunately after unnecessarily updating BIOS my laptop wouldn't let me in and requires to authenticate BitLocker. Since I've never activated it nor do I have the passwords the only thing I can do is to clean reinstall windows. But! Do I have to remove my product key before formatting so it won't get lost? How do I do that? 'Slmgr' won't work in CMD. Or can I proceed with formatting and product key will remove itself so I can activate Windows after installation? Currently using the same product key will show me that it isn't correct.Thank you!
