After every Windows update, the touchpad gets disabled. It's making me crazy

Very simple. Every time there is a Windows update I can't use my touchpad. I have to revert the changes but with the next update it's back to being disabled. I've searched for the touchpad in the Device Manager under "Mice and other...." but I only see HID-compliant mouse. Can anyone help me with this?
