This issue is not mine directly, but I having it in one of my voluntary works (http://www.prime-international.org.uk/home.htm). They use Mac OS X Snow Leopard and they use FileMaker (a kind of cloud computing). In a sudden, and without good reason, a particular part of the database can not be shared using IWP so members of the charity can not open the file when they need it. I did advise them to use other kind of sharing online without using FileMaker, but is a matter of security and they are not willing to change anyway. The contents of the file are very sensitive since they are doctors.

The file can be open from the host PC but not from the remote PCs or laptops as before.

We did try all the tricks on the book with not avail, especially the ones about the ports 80 and 591. Until last week all was OK; no updates, upgrades, software improvements or changes were done in the meantime but since the last Monday doesn't work.

What can be the problem?

Thank you.

Sorry, I am not clever...

Because I am using XP when posting, I thought that I only should use the section this section, but now I wonder if this post should be better moved to the Mac one.

If I am not breaking any Forum's rule I am going to repeat the post in the Mac section, but if I am, please, accept my apologies and delete the post in the Mac section.

Kind regards.

Considering the question is Mac related, (not my speciality at all) maybe it is best to repost there the original question, as it will then attract answers from those who do know something about them. Once that is done, this thread can be closed by any one of us on staff, but will be left as a pointer to that section.

Funny! I did it this morning and, when I did it, the post was there, but it has disappeared... !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or at least I can't find it. I did put practically the same thread title and the same question but it is not there...

I'll going to do it now again.
