When opening Family Tree Maker I get the message FTM not properly closed when last used, may need to compact your last opened file to resolve issues caused by improper shutdown. To compact file choose'compact file' from Tools menu Family tree then shuts down therefore the Tools Menu does not show this option. It was working properly before the last windows update.
