According to a new report by Duracell, Apple products are the most requested item on many kids Christmas wish-lists for 2010, overcoming toys as a the most sought after gifts by a wide margin. Not only do children want Apple gadgets, but they’re at the very top of their wish-lists. </p> <h2 style="font-size:1.3em;">Most Popular Christmas Gifts for 2010</h2> <p>The most requested Christmas toys are Apple products in the following order:</p> <ol> <li>iPhone 4 – this is a tougher one for Santa since it requires a contract</li> <li><a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001FA1O18?ie=UTF8&tag=oxd-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B001FA1O18">iPod touch</a><img src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=oxd-20&l=as2&o=1&a=B001FA1O18" width="1" height="1" border="0" alt="" style="border:none !important; margin:0px !important;" /> – Basically the same as iPhone 4 minus the cell phone and contract, the iPod touch would make an amazing gift and light up anyones holiday</li> <li><a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2Fs%3Fie%3DUTF8%26x%3D0%26ref_%3Dnb_sb_noss%26y%3D0%26field-keywords%3Dipad%26url%3Dsearch-alias%253Delectronics&tag=oxd-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=390957">iPad</a><img src="https://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=oxd-20&l=ur2&o=1" width="1" height="1" border="0" alt="" style="border:none !important; margin:0px !important;" /> – I would be thrilled if Santa gave me an iPad this year</li> </ol> <p>Here’s the other interesting thing, it’s all ages that want these Apple gadgets. The breakdown of Apple products appearing on wish lists for Christmas 2010 by child age: <span id="more-9155"></span></p> <ul> <li>39% of children want an Apple gadget for Christmas</li> <li>17% of 5-8 year olds want Apple products</li> <li>50% of 9-12 year olds most want an Apple iGadget</li> <li>66% of 13-16 year olds have Apple products at the top of their list</li> <li>100% of adults want an Apple gadget (OK I just made this up, but it’s probably true)</li> </ul> <p>Elsewhere on the kids Christmas lists for 2010 are:</p> <ul> <li><a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2Fs%3Fie%3DUTF8%26redirect%3Dtrue%26ref_%3Dsr_tc_2_1%26keywords%3Dlegos%26qid%3D1288117884%26sr%3D8-2-tc%26rh%3Dn%253A236510011%252Ck%253Alegos&tag=oxd-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=390957">Legos</a><img src="https://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=oxd-20&l=ur2&o=1" width="1" height="1" border="0" alt="" style="border:none !important; margin:0px !important;" /> (I’m an adult and I still love Legos)</li> <li>Digital cameras, specifically the <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0040702HA?ie=UTF8&tag=oxd-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B0040702HA">Flip Video Camera </a><img src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=oxd-20&l=as2&o=1&a=B0040702HA" width="1" height="1" border="0" alt="" style="border:none !important; margin:0px !important;" /></li> <li><a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003O6JLZ2?ie=UTF8&tag=oxd-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B003O6JLZ2">Xbox 360 with Kinect</a><img src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=oxd-20&l=as2&o=1&a=B003O6JLZ2" width="1" height="1" border="0" alt="" style="border:none !important; margin:0px !important;" /></li> <li><a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2Fs%3Fie%3DUTF8%26x%3D11%26ref_%3Dnb_sb_noss%26y%3D19%26field-keywords%3Dzhu%2520hamster%26url%3Dsearch-alias%253Daps&tag=oxd-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=390957">Zhu the Hamster</a><img src="https://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=oxd-20&l=ur2&o=1" width="1" height="1" border="0" alt="" style="border:none !important; margin:0px !important;" /> – I have no idea what this is, a purring hamster? Sure.</li> <li><a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002I0J4NE?ie=UTF8&tag=oxd-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B002I0J4NE">PlayStation Move</a><img src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=oxd-20&l=as2&o=1&a=B002I0J4NE" width="1" height="1" border="0" alt="" style="border:none !important; margin:0px !important;" /> – a movement add-on for Playstation 3</li> </ul> <p>Noticeably absent from the wish lists are anything that competes directly with Apple. No Android, no netbook, no Nintendo handhelds, nada. The gift list results were found in the Duracell Toy Report, which polled over 2000 kids regarding their Christmas lists, this was covered and published by the <a href="http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/8084305/Children-want-gadgets-not-toys-for-Christmas.html">Telegraph</a>. Unfortunately for Duracell, none of Apple’s products on the Christmas wish lists require any Duracell batteries. That’s great news for kids though, there is nothing worse than getting a cool toy on Christmas morning and not being able to play with it because batteries weren’t included! </p> <p>Remember that report that <a href="http://osxdaily.com/2010/10/25/apple-market-share-number-1-with-ipad/">Apple market share is number 1 with the iPad</a>? Yea, that’s going to keep growing. Apple is effectively raising a generation of Apple addicts. When the future generation is this hooked on your products, you have nowhere to go but up. </p> </div> <p><a href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/aB-Eckr-6wwW9TW9lB1pK2sDdRE/0/da"><img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/aB-Eckr-6wwW9TW9lB1pK2sDdRE/0/di" border="0" ismap="true"></img></a><br/> <a href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/aB-Eckr-6wwW9TW9lB1pK2sDdRE/1/da"><img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/aB-Eckr-6wwW9TW9lB1pK2sDdRE/1/di" border="0" ismap="true"></img></a></p><div class="feedflare"> <a href="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/osxdaily?a=SpXZK6HIKrE:ik8QB8gZz1I:yIl2AUoC8zA"><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/osxdaily?d=yIl2AUoC8zA" border="0"></img></a> <a href="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/osxdaily?a=SpXZK6HIKrE:ik8QB8gZz1I:V_sGLiPBpWU"><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/osxdaily?i=SpXZK6HIKrE:ik8QB8gZz1I:V_sGLiPBpWU" border="0"></img></a> <a href="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/osxdaily?a=SpXZK6HIKrE:ik8QB8gZz1I:D7DqB2pKExk"><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/osxdaily?i=SpXZK6HIKrE:ik8QB8gZz1I:D7DqB2pKExk" border="0"></img></a> <a href="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/osxdaily?a=SpXZK6HIKrE:ik8QB8gZz1I:7Q72WNTAKBA"><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/osxdaily?d=7Q72WNTAKBA" border="0"></img></a> <a href="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/osxdaily?a=SpXZK6HIKrE:ik8QB8gZz1I:qj6IDK7rITs"><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/osxdaily?d=qj6IDK7rITs" border="0"></img></a> </div><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/osxdaily/~4/SpXZK6HIKrE" height="1" width="1"/> View the full article
