Show SMS Character Count on the iPhone

<p>You can have your iPhone display the character count of text messages by enabling an option within the settings, here’s how:</p>

<ul>

<li>Tap on Settings</li>

<li>Tap on Messages</li>

<li>Tap the slider next to ‘Character Count’ to the ON position</li>

</ul>

<p>This is useful if you like to send SMS notifications to Twitter, or you’re just concerned about the general length of your texts.</p>

<p>While you’re in the message settings, you’ll notice the option to turn on <a href="http://osxdaily.com/2010/10/11/iphone-group-text-messaging-send-100-people-an-sms-for-the-price-of-1/">iPhone Group Messaging</a>, which effectively lets you text up to 100 people for the price of one SMS. It’s a fun feature but as of now it looks to be limited to AT&T.</p>
