<p>The GM release of iOS 4.2 is now available to download through Apple’s Developer Program. GM stands for Golden Master, which generally means the software release is ready to ship. The iOS 4.2 update is hotly anticipated for iPad owners in particular, since it will bring multitasking abilities to the device. The update also installs on the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G, and the 4th, 3rd, and 2nd generation iPod touches.</p>
