Guest SoDakRah Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 A couple weeks ago my computer simply stopped working. OfficeXP was gone and IE7 would not open. I reinstalled WindowsXP Pro and OfficeXP as well as IE7 and got things working again. Now the CD drive will not work. You insert a game CD and the game appears to boot up without selecting the shortcut but if you try to play you are prompted to insert the CD. Also there is no sound coming out of the external speakers. I have run AVG virus scan repeatedly for these two weeks even in safe mode and find nothing. Any ideas?

Perhaps the drive has died and should be replaced. Jim
