Hi and welcome to ExTS

it actually happened when i tried to install my xp professional and my laptop suddenly shuts down

So - you got part-way through an installation and the laptop shut down.

Do you have the disk in the drive when you switch on again ?

Is the CDROM set as the first boot device in the BIOS ?

It must be otherwise you could get this error with a partially installed OS.

There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !!

Hi

You will have to start the installation process again if it did not finish.
