If the past iPad is any indicator of iPad 2 sales, the device will sell out quickly, and the most popular model and hardest to get will be the iPad 2 16GB. What about color? With the iPhone, the black model was more popular than the white, but there may be pent up demand for a white iPad since the white iPhone 4 still hasn’t materialized. </p> <p>Here’s what we currently know about the availability of iPad 2. We’ll update this list as we get more information.</p> <h2 style="font-size:1.2em;">Online iPad 2 Availability</h2> <p>Currently, the fastest delivery for online orders is the AT&T online store with iPad 2 3G models, otherwise:</p> <ul> <li><strong>Apple Online Store</strong>: initial delivery was 3-5 days, updated to 2-3 weeks shipping times if you order now</li> <li><strong>AT&T Wireless Online</strong>: iPad 2 3G models will ship in 3-7 days, depending on model</li> <li><strong>Verizon Online</strong>: iPad 2 3G models not for sale yet online, starts at 5PM?</li> </ul> <p>Regardless of where you order online, it’s going to take a while to get the device shipped to you. If you want one right now, get in line at a retail store…</p> <h2 style="font-size:1.2em;">Retail iPad 2 Availability</h2> <p>Availability numbers will differ, but stores are the same as our “<a href="http://osxdaily.com/2011/03/03/where-to-buy-ipad-2-on-release-day/">where to buy</a>” page. These will begin selling at 5 PM PST:</p> <ul> <li><strong>Apple Store</strong>: lines are developing, some are already huge, get in line soon if you want one today</li> <li><strong>Best Buy</strong>: some stores have lines already, tickets will be handed out on first-come first-serve basis at 4:30pm</li> <li><strong>Walmart</strong> – most Walmarts have iPad 2 models in stock and already on shelves but they will not ring up until 5 PM, supposedly limited stock on hand</li> <li><strong>Sams Club</strong> – select locations have iPad 2 in stock </li> <li><strong>Target</strong> – Target has also confirmed they will be carrying iPad 2 starting on launch day</li> <li><strong>AT&T Wireless</strong>: only carrying GSM 3G models, no lines reported yet</li> <li><strong>Verizon Wireless</strong>: only carrying CDMA 3G models</li> </ul> <p>Don’t want to order online and wait for delivery? AND you don’t want to wait in line at a local store?
