Windows Search 4.0

Installed a cpl days ago. The three times I've used it, it came up Nil.

It did find in my Outlook email but nothing in WExplorer.

I was Searching for the file outlook.pst then tried *.pst ended up going

through WExpl to find it. Checked for errors results:

Errors: W Search Service, Category "Gatherer", Nbrs 3013, 3024, 3028, 3038.

Warning: W Search Service, Category "Gatherer", Nbr 3036

In Indexing Service\System\Directories, two locations:

C:\Docs&Set\*\Application Data\*

C:\Docs&Set\*\Local Settings\*

being the Office 2007 locations, the "Alias" Column is blank and the

"Include in Catalog" Column for both, shows "NO".

C:\ - Yes

My Documents - Yes

All Users\Documents - Yes

My Music - Yes (Very little in this folder)

My Pictures - Yes (Very little in this folder)

Does this mean these two locations haven't been Indexed.

The Index Icon in the Systray says "Indexing Complete"

Windows Search 4.0 is shown in A\R - I was going to delete it but decided

instead to see if whatever is wrong could be rectified by hopefully, a minor

correction.

I'll post the Properties of these errors if needed. I'm presuming you'll

identify the erros by the numbers but as this program is relatively new,

maybe not. Let me know what u prefer. Ths so much for any suggestions.

NOTE: Error 3013 Details:

A device attached to the system is not functioning. (0x8007001f)

I'm not aware of anything attached that's not functioning.

I've got an APC BR1500LCD UPS, a Siemans Speedstream Wireless ADSL Gateway

Router,

a Samsung CLX-2160N Printer and one laptop that hasn't been turned on for

weeks,

and is Wirelessly Networked to this one Desktop.

Think it might be easier on all that I delete this W Search program. Hardly

worth all this trouble to be used likely a cpl times a month. I'll wait and

see if someone can come up with a suggestion or two to try. Thx.

I tried it too and found it to be a piece of junk.

Just go into the control panel

add/remove programs

and uninstall it at once

reboot and it's gone!

Trying to turn XP into Vista is not a good idea!
