Guest SJMP Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Terminal Server 2003. I have routing and remote access configured. I see the users connect to the server. But when I try to make a remote access connection back to their machine the entire connection including the client (remote) machine gets hung. I disconnect the session from the routing and remote access console, but the remote machine gets hung. The remote machine is running Vista SP1. The problem is only on this 1 remote access server (TermServer). My old TS running windows 2003 sp2 can make the connection fine. Any idea? I am trying to look through group policy to see if something is blocking this connection from working properly Thanks, SJMP
Guest Jeff Pitsch Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Re: VPN connections on TS server Why is terminal services on this machine? Have you posted to the appropriate forums for routing and remote access as well? It may not be a termserv issue on the client end but a routing issue. Guest SJMP Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Re: VPN connections on TS server It is a TS. I also let users connect via routing and remote access so I can work remotely on their machine. Where in group policy do you set up all the Terminal server options. I think I must of disabled something. "Jeff Pitsch" wrote: > Why is terminal services on this machine? Guest George Yin Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 RE: VPN connections on TS server Hello, You can try typing "rsop" (without the quotation marks) in the Run dialog box, on the RRAS server and on the remote user's computer, to see if any group policies relating to Terminal Services have been applied. Additionally, would you please do some more tests to narrow down the problem? Test 1. ===== You mentioned that you have another RRAS server, would you please try asking the remote user log on to that RRAS server to see if you can RDP to the user's computer from that server? Test 2. ===== Does this problem happen to only one remote user's computer or to all remote users' computers? Would you please try RDP to an internal computer on the same internal network to see how it goes? Test 3. ===== If possible, would you please try allowing only one user to remote connect to this RRAS server and then see if you can RDP to this remote user's computer?
