Geek Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 <div class="KonaBody"><p><img src="http://osxdaily.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/shake-to-undo-macbook.jpg" alt="Shake to Undo on a Mac Laptop" title="shake-to-undo-macbook" width="500" height="229" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-20972" /></p> <p>If you’ve used an iPhone or iPad much, you’re undoubtedly familiar with the <a href="http://osxdaily.com/2009/08/21/shake-to-undo-and-redo-typing-in-iphone-30-plus-a-bunch-of-other-iphone-tips/">‘shake-to-undo’ feature</a> that lets you literally shake the device to undo an event or clear a text box. With a little help of a third party tool, we can <strong>bring shake to undo to Mac laptops</strong> that are equipped with a sudden motion sensor (SMS), mostly MacBook Pro’s and newer unibody MacBooks. The tiny app works by activating Command+Z when movement is detected by the SMS. </p> <ul> <li><a href="http://s3.amazonaws.com/ns_bytes/Shake%20to%20Undo.dmg">Download Now</a> (dmg direct link) – or <a href="https://github.com/NateStedman/shake-to-undo">visit the apps page on GitHub</a></li> </ul> <p>If you’re concerned about accidental undos from moving your Mac laptop around, you can prevent this by enabling the ‘Confirmation Overlay’ from Shake To Undo.app’s menubar. This causes a simple confirmation dialog to appear when the sudden motion sensor has detected a shake, clarifying that you want to clear or undo text.</p> <p>I’m not sure how useful this really is, but it’s fun in the same way that the <a href="http://osxdaily.com/2006/12/06/macsaber-turn-your-mac-into-a-lightsaber/">MacBook Light Saber app</a>, just don’t shake your Mac too hard!</p> <p><em>Thanks for the tip Anthony</em></p> </div> <p><a href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/X2zeJbAimTHF5kWbDvV_uZuRY_0/0/da"><img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/X2zeJbAimTHF5kWbDvV_uZuRY_0/0/di" border="0" ismap="true"></img></a><br/> <a href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/X2zeJbAimTHF5kWbDvV_uZuRY_0/1/da"><img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/X2zeJbAimTHF5kWbDvV_uZuRY_0/1/di" border="0" ismap="true"></img></a></p><div class="feedflare"> <a href="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/osxdaily?a=q_z9iChq-V0:-plDB5qiPYE:yIl2AUoC8zA"><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/osxdaily?d=yIl2AUoC8zA" border="0"></img></a> <a href="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/osxdaily?a=q_z9iChq-V0:-plDB5qiPYE:V_sGLiPBpWU"><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/osxdaily?i=q_z9iChq-V0:-plDB5qiPYE:V_sGLiPBpWU" border="0"></img></a> <a href="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/osxdaily?a=q_z9iChq-V0:-plDB5qiPYE:D7DqB2pKExk"><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/osxdaily?i=q_z9iChq-V0:-plDB5qiPYE:D7DqB2pKExk" border="0"></img></a> <a href="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/osxdaily?a=q_z9iChq-V0:-plDB5qiPYE:7Q72WNTAKBA"><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/osxdaily?d=7Q72WNTAKBA" border="0"></img></a> <a href="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/osxdaily?a=q_z9iChq-V0:-plDB5qiPYE:qj6IDK7rITs"><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/osxdaily?d=qj6IDK7rITs" border="0"></img></a> </div><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/osxdaily/~4/q_z9iChq-V0" height="1" width="1"/> View the full article
