One of the more common is <a href="http://osxdaily.com/2011/10/12/fix-error-3002-during-ios-5-update/">“Error 3200″ or “Error 3002″</a>, the fix for that is fairly simple and we’ve already covered it but nonetheless the error has plagued enough users for it to become a trending topic on Twitter.</p> <p>As the day has progressed though, more and more error messages are popping up, everything from <em>“An internal error occurred”</em> with no number, to <em>“An unknown error occurred (3004</em>)” or with a wide variety of other error codes, ranging from 1600 to 3200. </p> <p><strong>The fix for all of these errors? Patience</strong>. Just waiting it out and trying again later often resolves the problems, although that isn’t much comfort to anyone who is stuck somewhere in iOS update limbo.</p> <p>Waiting works because Apple’s servers are absolutely swamped during the <a href="http://osxdaily.com/2011/10/12/ios-5-download-available/">iOS 5 download</a> and update process, as millions and millions of users try to cram through and activate their hardware. The evidence of server failure comes by a newer error message that actually reports this:</p> <p><em>“The iPhone (name) cannot be restored at this time because the iPhone software update server could not be contacted or is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later.” </em> <img src="http://osxdaily.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/server-unavailable.jpg" alt="Server unavailable error during iOS 5 update" title="server-unavailable" width="609" height="247" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-22342" /></p> <p>So just wait it out, things should sort themselves out soon enough. The other side to all of this, is that if you haven’t tried updating to iOS 5 yet, you might want to just wait until tomorrow so you can avoid some of these headaches. <span id="more-22340"></span></p> <p>Update: here’s another screenshot of one of these messages:</p> <p><em>“The iPad ‘Name’ could nto be restored.
