Getting rid of Desktop Cleanup Wizard notice?

Is there a way to stop the Desktop Cleanup Wizard bubble from ever popping up

again for our end users? The desktop properties tab that contains that is

disabled due to group policy and I'd hate to undo that if not necessary.

Thanks.

Too fast with the post. Ok, there is a group policy to disable it:

User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Desktop > Remove The

Desktop Cleanup Wizard. Who set up these group policies?

Hi Michael,

You can try by using this Reg file, please copy and paste the folowing code

into your notepad save it on your Desktop as name cleanupwiz.reg, right click

it and select merge to merge to your registry.

Reboot your machine after that.

===== Copy Code Below ====

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\CleanupWiz]

"NoRun"=dword:00000001

NOTE: you will not be able to run it if your Admin disabling the registry

Have you tried enabling the following setting in Group Policy?

User Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Desktop -> Remove the

Desktop Cleanup Wizard

It can also be disabled by setting the value to 1 of this registry key.

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer!NoDesktopCleanupWizard

Take a look at these web sites for more info.

Good luck
