Missing calculator

Calculator is missing from my computer. I am running XP Media Center

Edition. I have searched for Calc.exe in Systems 32 and then ran a general

search. I believe I deleted the program by accident, thinking it was

something else. Anyone have a way that I can download the software?

You can re-install it if you have he OS installation CD.

Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs.

look on the left panel, see Add/Remove Windows Components.

Click it.

In the box under Components, click (select Accessories and Utilities) then

click Details button.

Select Accessories, click Details button. Put a check mark for Calculator.

Click OK.

You can download a Zip file from this web site that contains a copy of

calc.exe. Extract the file and put it in the C:\WINDOWS\System32 folder.

Line 344, right hand column, Restore Calc.exe.

Good luck

Re: Missing calculator

You can find and re-install it from your Win XP install CD or from your

i386 folder on your Windows drive.

Look in either place for files that end in .cab These are compressed

archives which contain all of the install files for XP.

In one of them you will find calc.exe and can extract it from the .cab

file with a good archive manager program like LZarc. You'll need lZarc

or another program that handles compressed files of the .cab type to

look in the .cab files

Re: Missing calculator

1. Open the Run box and enter: msconfig

2. Click the "Expand File..." button.

3. In the "File to restore:" box, enter: calc.exe

4. In the "Restore from:" box, browse to either the

i386 folder on your hard drive, "C:\i386\calc.ex_"

or your Windows CD, "D:\i386\calc.ex_"

5. In the "Save file in:" box, browse to your system32

directory, "C:\WINDOWS\system32\"

6. When all information is entered and correct, click the

"Expand" button.
