Guest Capt Jack Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Calculator is missing from my computer. I am running XP Media Center Edition. I have searched for Calc.exe in Systems 32 and then ran a general search. I believe I deleted the program by accident, thinking it was something else. Anyone have a way that I can download the software?

Anyone have a way that I can download the software? > You can download a Zip file from this web site that contains a copy of calc.exe. Extract the file and put it in the C:\WINDOWS\System32 folder. Line 344, right hand column, Restore Calc.exe. http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm Good luck Nepatsfan

Guest Ray Parrish Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 Re: Missing calculator You can find and re-install it from your Win XP install CD or from your i386 folder on your Windows drive. Look in either place for files that end in .cab These are compressed archives which contain all of the install files for XP. In one of them you will find calc.exe and can extract it from the .cab file with a good archive manager program like LZarc. You'll need lZarc or another program that handles compressed files of the .cab type to look in the .cab files Later, Ray Parrish andan wrote: > sha dou kan bu dong > > > "Capt Jack" <CaptJack@discussions.microsoft.com> дÈëÏûÏ¢ÐÂÎÅ > :F5ECA5CD-CBB1-4EE6-9EF9-01CBEC4AC0D0@microsoft.com... >> Calculator is missing from my computer. Guest ju.c Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 Re: Missing calculator 1. Open the Run box and enter: msconfig 2. Click the "Expand File..." button. 3. In the "File to restore:" box, enter: calc.exe 4. In the "Restore from:" box, browse to either the i386 folder on your hard drive, "C:\i386\calc.ex_" or your Windows CD, "D:\i386\calc.ex_" 5. In the "Save file in:" box, browse to your system32 directory, "C:\WINDOWS\system32\" 6. When all information is entered and correct, click the "Expand" button. ju.c "Ray Parrish" <crp@cmc.net> wrote in message news:OIw2O7GOJHA.4200@TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl... > You can find and re-install it from your Win XP install CD or from your i386 folder on your Windows drive. > > Look in either place for files that end in .cab These are compressed archives which contain all of the install files for XP. > > In one of them you will find calc.exe and can extract it from the .cab file with a good archive manager program like LZarc.
