<p>Have an event or statement you want to broadcast to a group of people? Send out a mass text message to multiple recipients easily from the iPhone:</p>

<ol>

<li>Open the Messages app and tap the “New” message button</li>

<li>Tap into the “To” field and enter the first recipient, then tap the (+) plus button and add other recipients from the address book one by one</li>

<li>Type and send your text message as usual</li>

</ol>

<p>Mass texting is convenient but the other benefit comes with texting fees, with AT&T at least, a single group text will count as one message rather than individual SMS’s. Of course, receiving replies will count against your standard texting plan as usual though.</p>

<p>Older versions of iOS had to have <a href="http://osxdaily.com/2010/10/11/iphone-group-text-messaging-send-100-people-an-sms-for-the-price-of-1/">group texting manually enabled</a>, but it is now activated by default in iOS 5 or later.</p>
