13 (Pro) Possible Manufacturing Flaw: A (long) tale of the lightning port and intermittent charging and data transfers

I got my 13 Pro a two months ago and all was good. It's a great phone and had been loving it, at first. However, I started encountering issues with charging with the lightning port on my 13 Pro, where charging would immediately stop and restart (often in less than a second). I discovered several reddit threads with people explaining the same issue:
