Anyone ever had music playing over your phone call while using hands free mode?

Somehow my car sound system was playing music from my iPhone which was surprising but sounded great (none of the music sucked), and I searched, at a stoplight, the phone number for a store I was heading to to make sure they had something I was looking for. I hear the ringing through the speakers, and hear, barely under the audio, the person talking. I tried to turn the system off, but still hear the music and the person trying to answer my call.
