Server loses Network shares on folders

I am currently trying to solve a rather unusual issue. I have a Windows

Server 2003 Standard with SP2, all updates done. It is connected to a Dell

NAS storage device.

We have some shares here for various users. For some reason, this morning,

the shared folders were no longer shared. There were no errors in the event

log. What could have caused this?

I re-shared the folders, but I am concerned this will happen again, any

advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Who else has access to the server?

Where are the shared folders? You mention a NAS, so I'm not sure where they

reside.

The folders are on the server, only myself & my boss have access to the

server, I checked & nobody changed anything, the server just stopped sharing

the folders & did not generate any errors in the event log.

Were *any* folders still shared? If you typed "net share" in a command

prompt, was anything still there?

What antivirus do you run?
