trying this again. . got no response in first post

 

in the history folder, documents & settings, user, local settings. . .items

will not delete. .receive the message, "the specified path does not exist".

.. .how can i remove these items?. . .thanks for any help

Are you deleting them in the Folders pane or viewing

pane. I have found that if you delete history items in

the viewing pane, they will still show in the folders

pane even though they don't exist. If you close and

re-open Windows Explorer, they should be gone.

 

The best way to delete history is in Internet Explorer>

Tools>Internet options.
