Hello:

I am using Windows XP Home Edition Service Pak 2.

What I try to boot, the black screen with the Windows log appears then the

laptop keeps rebooting.

I have been able to boot in Safe Mode, but not in the Last Known Good Config.

When I selected Disable automatic restart on system failure, it gave an

error message of 00000

Yours in hope

Michael, if you are able to boot into Safe Mode then try a system

restore. Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore

Re: Cannot boot problem

Hi Barry

Thank you for your advice, much appreciated.

What I did yesterday, after writing this message, is I opened windows in the

Directory Services Restore Mode and did a System Restore to 10/21 and it

worked fine.

I am not sure though what the problem was since I did not download or delete

any applications lately.

Yesterday when I tried to boot using Disable automatic restart on system

failure, I got the following message

STOP: C000021a (fatal system error) the window logon process system

terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc000005. The system has been shut

down.

I am wondering what that means and why I had this problem.?

I ran scan disk from the Command Prompt and via My computer, but no errors

came back.

Should I do anything else?

Thanks
