Hey guys,

I recently noticed a small mark on my acer 24" monitor. (The picture is below). I'm not sure if it is a dead pixel because it is not a square, it is more of a line. It isn't on the outside of the monitor, it is on the inside so I can't rub it off. Any help on what it is or how to get rid of it would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Max.

Looks like a thunderbug on the inside of the screen. Did it just appear one day? If yes then I will assume a bug managed to crawl in and get stuck.

Or if it has been there for along time it could be some damage to the panel.

Pixels tend to stick in groups.

Like Vr5fx, I also think it is something foreign such as an insect rather than pixels, but how it got there is a mystery, as the sheets of different layers that make up the screen itself are very tightly held together normally.

Personally, unless it is something you find extremely annoying, I would put up with it till I could get another monitor.

Then knowing there is a new one, take it to bits very carefully to see if it can be removed.

If you intend to take it apart I highly recommend cotton gloves. There is nothing worse than seeing smears of finger prints when it's back together.

Also, take your time, as Nev said be careful, screens are made of many thin layers.

Hey guys,

I don't know how long it has been there but I noticed it in the last week or two. I wouldn't be as annoyed if I had the monitor for a while, but I brought it just over a month ago! The mark is pretty much dead in the centre or the screen, and when playing games and doing anything else it is very distracting.

Thanks,

Max.

If it is only just over a month old, fire it back under warranty, regardless of what the mark is, it shouldn't be there on a screen that new.
