Installation of XP on HP dv5 1102tu

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Few days back I bought HP dv5 1102tu. It has come with Vista preinstalled.

However, I want to use XP, as I m comfortable with it, moreover, some of my

previous softwares are not working in Vista. But, when I tried installing XP,

it gave some error in blue screen. Please, anyone tell me how to install XP

in my notebook.

Thank in advance

You should check at the HP forums. There are a number of people

who have posted detailed instructions on how to replace Vista. You

should be aware that obtaining XP drivers for new model notebooks

is getting very hard to find. There are other considerations like any

future peripheral purchases may not include XP drivers.

And also if winxp is not supported by HP on your new PC it may invalidate

any HP support or warranty

Good point, Also before removing Vista be sure to either Image the

Vista state of the machine or make sure the Recovery Optical disks

are created. In the future if you wish to return to Vista you'll need one

or the other. Most OEMs do not provide the OS installation disk.
