Slow Computer

My computer is so slow that when i try to click from one page to another, i get a square box appear, saying cannot process wait or cancel?

Can you first please tell us the make and if known, the model number of your computer.

 

Also it may help us to know what security you have, antivirus, firewall and things like that.

My Computer is a ACER (Aspire M1640) Security Malware and Spybot, I have also a problem as to when i use the mouse to scroll down page, sometimes there is no response, i have to wait.

Let's try something and then get a better look at the security.

 

Step 1

Clean out your temporary internet files and temp files.

 

Download TFC by OldTimer to your desktop

• Please double-click TFC.exe to run it. (Note: If you are running on Vista, right-click on the file and choose Run As Administrator).
  
• It will close all programs when run, so make sure you have saved all your work before you begin.
  
• Click the Start button to begin the process. Depending on how often you clean temp files, execution time should be anywhere from a few seconds to a minute or two. Let it run uninterrupted to completion.
  
• Once it's finished it should reboot your machine. If it does not, please manually reboot the machine yourself to ensure a complete clean.

 

 

Step 2

Download Security Check from here or here.

• Save it to your Desktop.
  
• Double click SecurityCheck.exe and follow the onscreen instructions inside of the black box.
  (Note: If you are running on Vista, right-click on the file and choose Run As Administrator).
  
• A Notepad document should open automatically called checkup.txt; please copy and paste the contents of that document in your next reply.
  

 

In your next reply, please submit:

Checkup.txt

and let me know if things are any faster after running TFC.

Have done what you suggested, its helped alittle but still have problems, When i use the mouse to go up and down on web pages it does not work for a time and page freezes?

Hi Bella,

 

Please post the checkup.txt from SecurityCheck.exe, so i can see if there's any security program conflicts that may be causing the slow down.
