I have an NVIDIA GeForce 9400 GT graphics card in my current PC.

I just bought an HP Pavilion Slimline S5000 series S5306UK model and i just noticed it doesn't have a tv output on the back.

My old graphics card has an HDMI one.

Can i fit that to this new to me (2nd hand) PC ?

I suppose i could open it up but i'd rather ask those in the know before going there.

Looking at the PSU specs for that model HP it says it only has a 220watt unit, unsure what the minimum requirement is for that specific graphics card but it may not be enough.

Someone else may be able to throw a little more info at this than me though.

That's a good question and it really depends on how much you want to spend. There are many cheap units available but there reliability may be questionable, i personally try to stick to reputable brands myself such as Corsair/OCZ or Thermaltake but there are loads of units you could choose from. I would look at getting a 400-500w unit which should be more than enough for your PC and Graphics combination. A couple of sites i use for buying from are Novatech and Overclockers.

There are a few examples for you but like i said it depends on what you would be happy to pay.

Looking a bit further in to this and I think you are going to need a different type of PSU to the ones listed above. Your machine has a slimline PSU which seem to be difficult to source. I've seen a 300W PSU sold in America so it is possible they are available in the UK.

Any chance you can take off the PC side panel and find the make and model number of your PSU?

Reading some of the other video upgrade threads for slimline HP machines, I am also wondering if your video card will actually fit - other people have used slimline video cards - it would be a good idea to check before buying a PSU.
