Guest Dave Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 I don't know how to search through all of the newsgroup messages to find a particular subject of interest. Can someone walk me through the process? I would like to be able to find answers without posting a new message on the same subject. -- Dave

The best and easiest way is to use Google advanced search at http://groups.google.com/advanced_search?q=& -- Ken Blake, Microsoft MVP - Windows Desktop Experience Please Reply to the Newsgroup

Guest Dave Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 Re: Newsgroup Searching Thanks to you both for your suggestions . . . I'll work on both. I want to be able to find answers if they are somewhere in the Newsgroup. -- Dave "Dave" <leedave@otelco-removetoreply-.net> wrote in message news:OJkLGFiNJHA.3804@TK2MSFTNGP03.phx.gbl... >I don't know how to search through all of the newsgroup messages to find a >particular subject of interest. Guest PA Bear [MS MVP] Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 Re: Newsgroup Searching If you're accessing the newsgroup via Outlook Express and have download only (or primarily) the headers, you'll only be able to search on words or phrases in the Subject. To be able to search message contents, you'd have to download all of the message bodies. Easiest is to search Google Groups archive; e.g., http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.windowsxp.general/topics -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-IE, Mail, Security, Windows Desktop Experience - since 2002 AumHa VSOP & Admin http://aumha.net DTS-L http://dts-l.net/ Dave wrote: > I don't know how to search through all of the newsgroup messages to find a > particular subject of interest.
