Shared Printer and Terminal Server RDC Session.

Hi,

 

In my XP OS client, I am able to see the shared printer in my terminal server

session (I installed this shared printer drivers in the server properties in

my TS 2008) but, the prinout is going through.

 

Any help.

Do you mean that the printer is installed on the server, or is it

your local printer (on the XP client) which is redirected as a

session printer? If it's a session printer, then the most likely

cause is that the printer driver isn't compatible with TS. Have you

tried with EasyPrint?

The printer is neither installed on the XP Client or on the server, it is

installed on another Vista client (DoT4port) and shared to the XP client.

Ther Server is in a remote location and the printer drivers are already

installed on the server. In fact, we are able to see this shared printer in

the XP Client RDP Session, only thing is, when we give printout, it's not

going through.

OK, that means (for rdp printer redirection purposes) that the

printer is installed on the local XP client, and you want to use it

as a session printer.

Since you have installed the driver on the TS, the printer will

show up as redirected (session) printer, as you report, but that

doesn't mean it will work.

The 99,99% cause for this is an incompatible printer driver.

Uninstall the driver completely from the server and enable

EasyPrint.
