The firewire connection works with a firewire drive, but not with a camera (digital 8 and mini DV cameras - both digitally record via moving magnetic tape). Computer - 5,1 original with an RX 580 Sapphire GPU OS X Mojave Connection - Firewire 400 in camera =>800 in 5,1 (tested a 400 hard drive via an adapter for the 400 cable and the drive works and is seen)...
