Can pressing the “ok” button at the bottom of a popup infect my phone?

I wanted to play that chrome dinosaur game, and I remembered a site with games like that called eloog, so I put eloog (dot) com into my search bar and it took me to NOT THE RIGHT SITE and gave me a iOS popup saying my iPhone's been infected. It had the standard "ok" button at the bottom of it. I wanted to close the tab so I hit ok hurriedly to unlock the screen and before I closed the tab I saw the website looked like Safari (I use Brave, not safari). That makes me think it's nothing since I didn't hit any other buttons but after searching the web I'm seeing people saying that just hitting "ok" CAN infect your device.

Please tell me if I messed up.
