Why do FaceID locked apps/features still allow for passcode?

Hi,

 

The FaceID app locking feature is great (in iOS 18 Beta), same for private photo albums and Apple Pay, or apps that offer it by themselves. However, whenever FaceID cannot be recognized, it prompts to enter passcode instead, which seems super fragile as it’s « just » a PIN code.

 

Is there a way to actually require FaceID for these sensitive operations?
