Is it normal for mobile games to freeze my MacBook Air (M1) when quitting?

I recently bought a MacBook Air with the M1 chip, and while I know Macs aren’t typically designed for gaming, I decided to try some mobile games like Asphalt 8 that I downloaded from the App Store. The games run smoothly, just like on my phone, but when I try to quit, the games freeze, and nothing responds not even the Force Quit option. I’ve had to press and hold the power button to shut down the Mac multiple times. Is this a normal issue with these types of games on a Mac, or could there be something wrong?
