iOS 17 still autocorrecting every word even if I X the suggestion box

Because it's still happening after all this time, for me anyway. iOS 17 ruined this feature and it's still broken even in 17.16.1 as of nearly September 2024. It's not a WhatsApp issue. It's not a predictive text issue. It's not a keyboard dictionary issue that can be fixed by performing a reset.

 

I have tried everything and after posting on the apple forums myself in February after some people claimed the issue to be fixed for them in iOS 17.2.x/17.3.x, I just decided to deal with it for the last several months, using a third party keyboard app on and off but ultimately feeling robbed of the typing experience we had before iOS 17.

 

I now ask myself - will this even be fixed in iOS 18 for me? Do I need to buy a new phone?? Has anyone who had this issue managed to get it fixed after iOS 17.3.x? And did you have the same problems with it not working on all apps (not just WhatsApp), and did you not fix it by turning on predictive text or resetting the keyboard dictionary?

 

Any conversation on this would be greatly appreciated as I haven't seen much about it in a while and most people either never had the problem, had the problem fixed months ago, or have the problem but possibly don't care
